Dear Homeowners --- Most, if not all, of you received a notice from Atlantic City Electric last month announcing their plan to replace all the existing electric meters at Old Stagecoach with "smart meters". As of today, all but 3 meters within the Campground have been replaced. The process started on Monday, November 7th and concluded on Wednesday, November 16th.
Of the 3 meters that were not replaced, one homeowner is without electricity and has been notified. The plug receptacle on the pedestal for the meter itself was broken and must be replaced. The two other homeowners have issues with the voltage going in and out of the pedestal which needs to be investigated and ultimately repaired. The old meters are still in place and those two homeowners have electricity to their trailers. Both have been or are in the process of being contacted. Note: Homeowners are responsible for the electric pedestals and the wiring going from the pedestal to their trailer. The Association is responsible for the underground wiring between the pedestals. The new digital smart meters will record daily energy use and securely communicate with the Atlantic City Electric operations facility via an antenna in our community. This will eliminate the need for someone to arrive on-site to read our meters and, for the most part, estimated billing. For additional information, please visit the Atlantic City Electric site at atlanticcityelectric.com/SEN (click link below). We hope this alleviates any concerns you may have had about Atlantic City Electric getting into the community during the off-season to complete this upgrade. Comments are closed.
