Dear Homeowners -- Throughout this and multiple other seasons, we've been stressing "no wipes". Now we also need to stress NO GREASE down the drains. Saturday night a homeowner's toilet backed up, they had no ability to use water overnight, and Maintenance had to come in Sunday morning to clear the clog. There were no wipes in the line this time; instead, there was A HUGE PLUG OF HARDENED GREASE that completely blocked the sewer line.
PLEASE, in addition to not flushing wipes, DO NOT POUR GREASE OR OIL DOWN THE DRAIN! Pour it into a can or container that you can toss or allow it to cool in the pan and wipe it with a paper towel into the trash. Plus whatever grease reaches our leach fields reduces their life ... and our community has no other areas available to locate new leach fields. Septic systems are very sensitive ... and it is important that you, your family, your guests, your renters know what can and can't be flushed or poured down our drains. If we lose our leach fields, our property values drop to nothing without a viable septic system. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Comments are closed.
