(Sorry but this is somewhat of a lengthy post.)
As mentioned in our previous posts, the Laundry Room was converted today to a new payment system. However, we still have several washers that could not be converted because of mother board issues within the washers themselves. Please DO NOT USE THE WASHERS LABELED “08” AND “09” for the time being. The technician will be back early next week with the necessary parts to repair those two washers. Unfortunately, the original process explained to us was not correct for our location. (The tech had mistakenly given us information for another site’s upgrade.) We will no longer be using Laundry Cards of any type. Instead, you will pay directly at each machine via a credit/debit card or by using a mobile app on your smartphone. To pay by debit or credit card, place your card into the top slot of the reader with the card’s chip facing down. The screen on the reader will show various prompts as your payment is processed. This can take up to a minute to complete as your card is validated. Please be patient. Only remove your card when the screen acknowledges your payment and you are able to select the washing machine cycle or see that your dryer has 60 minutes of time. (For the dryers, you can add additional time for a fee by reinserting your card.) To pay with an app on your smartphone, see the attached instructions to install and use the CALECO CleanMobile app. You will automatically be given a $5.00 credit for utilizing the app. Additionally, the app will alert you with a text message when the washer or dryer cycle is complete … if you choose to enter your cellphone number. You can also report problems with the machines and request a refund within the app. Important Note: When using the app to pay for the dryers, you will be asked if you want to extend the time immediately after you pay for the initial 60 minutes. Be sure to hit “Cancel” if you don’t need the additional time. For anyone who turned in their laundry cards at 707 Beach by the morning of Sept 30th, you will be receiving a refund for the balance on your card via a check from Caleco. Home addresses were supplied with each card so the checks could be mailed directly to you. If you have a balance remaining your laundry card, instructions for obtaining a refund will be supplied shortly. Our apologies for any confusion. We were a bit confused as well. If you have specific questions that cannot be answered via the information provided here or the posters in the Laundry Room, please email the Board at [email protected] and we will do our best to help you. As always, thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. Yes ... Unfortunately it's time to say "good-bye" to our home away from home for another season in just one short month. The last day the water will be on is Monday, November 1. We will begin shutdown activities on Tuesday.
And the last day for trash collection will be Monday, November 1. We will continue to use this website as well as our Facebook page (OSC Condo Information) to communicate during the off-season. Hope you enjoyed the 2021 season at OSC! Have a safe and happy fall and winter! Dear Homeowners … At our Annual Meeting and via our Board email, a number of homeowners have expressed concern over the condition of several properties within our community. Due to homeowners being out of work due to Covid or not wanting to come down due to Covid concerns, we have been remiss in sending letters to homeowners who have not maintained their property.
Per our Bylaws, all sites shall be well maintained and free of trash and debris. Leaves shall be cleared from lots by mid-May of each year with the exact date specified by the Board of Trustees at the beginning of each calendar year. All units shall have skirting around the bottom of the mobile home and all lots shall be covered with landscaping stone. If you need help maintaining your property, please email the Board at [email protected]. We can reach out to other homeowners who are willing to help or contract with a local landscaping service. In either case, you will be responsible for paying for any services rendered. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. As we mentioned at the end of August, Caleco, the vendor for our laundry equipment, will be making a change to how you pay to use the washers and dryers. They have scheduled the conversion for Thursday, September 30. Please do not plan to do any laundry that day. Also please reduce the balance on your existing card and do not add any additional funds to it. The new system will allow you to pay to use the washers and dryers with a "new" laundry card or a mobile app. Funds can be placed on the "new" laundry cards via a new machine that will accept credit/debit cards, not cash. New cards will be issued to all homeowners who wish to have one (free of charge).
If you still have a balance on your old laundry card and wish to have it transferred, you can drop in off at 707 Beach. There will be a yellow bucket with a pink lid on the porch. Your card must be in an envelope with your name and lot number ... and if possible, the balance remaining on the card. If you are not around between now and September 30 and wish to have the balance transferred to a new card, procedures will be provided after we meet with the Caleco representatives on September 30. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available. Dear Homeowners – As announced at the Annual Meeting and on our scrolling marquee, the last day our pool will be open is Sunday, September 12. From now until the pool is closed, only the front gate by Main Street will be open during pool hours.
Hope you all enjoyed our pool this summer! Dear Homeowners … Yesterday was your last Friday trash collection for this season. Trash will only be collected once per week, on Mondays, until we close for the season. Due to the Labor Day holiday, trash will be collected on Tuesday, September 7 this coming week.
Please remember household trash should be bagged. Recycling should be loose in your recycling container. Pizza boxes should be placed in the trash, not recycling. If you bring recycling to the dumpsters yourself, please do not place in a plastic bag. Thanks in advance for your cooperation. Join your friends and neighbors for a game of Left, Center, Right on Sunday, September 5th at 7:00pm, either inside or outside the Community Center.
It's a dice game that is very easy to learn. All you need is at least 3 - $1.00 bills (but bring whatever you have to help people who need change). Depending on the amount of people that come, we will have one big game or break into groups. It's a lot of fun and you can win some cash. All are welcome. BYOB and snacks. IF YOU HAVE THE GAME, PLEASE BRING IT!!!! The Pool will be closing at 4:00pm today (Wednesday, Sept. 1) so it can be shocked. It will reopen tomorrow morning ... weather permitting, of course.
We received an alert earlier today that there is a tornado watch (not warning) at this time for Cape May County. Should you receive an alert that there is a Tornado Warning (ie. a tornado has been spotted or is imminent given conditions) for Cape May Court House, the sturdiest and safest building in our community is the Bathhouse – the bathrooms to be specific – with cinderblock walls and small windows.
Please be sure your phones are charged and keep an extra bucket of water in your tub to flush in the event of a power failure. Stay safe! The winds have picked up considerably this afternoon. |
