This Friday, September 2nd, will be the last Friday trash pick up for the season. Because of the holiday weekend, trash will be picked up on Tuesday, September 6th, next week instead of Monday. During September and October, trash will only be picked up on Mondays.
Thanks Rob Rowello will be heading up a Public Safety Committee for OSC. Please contact Rob directly at [email protected] if you are interested in participating and sharing your concerns and ideas. He will be setting up a Zoom call for the first week of September.
Thanks Dear OSC Owners,
The Bylaws Committee of OSC met on Sunday, August 27 to discuss preliminary goals and strategic plans as we begin to move forward on the process to amend some of our current bylaws. We will be meeting beginning Sunday, October 2 at 10:30am and through the winter months, mostly bi-monthly, to go over all of the existing Bylaws to see which ones need to be changed, deleted, or added to. The October meeting(s) will be held at the Log Cabin, then switch to Zoom over the off months. There is a need for additional members for this committee and we have 4 to 5 spots to fill. If you are interested, please let us know via the Board email ([email protected]). The responsibilities of each committee member will be as follows: 1. You must be a homeowner in good standing for at least three years. 2. Be willing and able to attend the majority of the meetings scheduled whether in person or by zoom. 3. Be willing to thoroughly read the existing Bylaws and the Master Deed of OSC and be privy to its contents. 4. Be willing to take on any research assignment given that will help expedite the process. As many homeowners know, this is something that we have been trying to do for many, many years and now with the Radburn law of 2017, we can now begin the process of changing some of our outdated Bylaws so that they can bring our community into the 21st century. If you would like to be part of OCS history, we welcome you to join the committee. Please let us know ASAP. OSC Bylaws Committee If so, Middle Township is requiring you to register as a "landlord" and obtain a fire inspection. Most of you should have received the attached letter with your 2022-2023 tax bill ... but several homeowners indicated that they didn't receive it. So we're passing it along. This pertains to short-term and long-term rentals. (Allowing family and friends to use your place at OSC is not considered a rental.) Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
As mentioned in our Annual Meeting on Saturday, Middle Township sent a letter to ALL registered campgrounds in March indicating that "no permanent structures" were permitted. Since then, they have been denying building permits but have not provided any additional insight as to why the change was made. We have been working with our lawyer and the Township Solicitor to see what we can do to allow additions and decks again. We received a preliminary draft of the Township's re-written regulations the day before the meeting and will be reviewing it with our lawyer. We'll keep you posted. As requested at the meeting, attached is the original letter sent to all the Middle Township campgrounds.
We had a large turnout for Saturday's Annual Meeting and, with a quorum present, we were able to have an election.
The results were as follows: Board of Trustees: The following individuals will serve as the five members of the Board for the 2022-2023 season -- Anthony Forlenza, Kathleen Lang, Debbie Rodia, Amy Stallbaum, and Ron Zitter. Alternates: Both Rebecca Moran and Tom Peters were elected to be the two Alternates for the 2022-2023 season. Congratulations to our new Board members and alternates. And we are looking to have the other nominees participate with our committees and other initiatives at OSC. Thank you for your participation! Attached are the handouts that will be available at today's Annual Association Meeting. Copies will be available at the meeting if you are attending in person. Hope to see you there.
Please note that the pool will be closed (10:00-11:30am) during the Annual Meeting ... and will open for the day once the meeting is over.
Thanks in advance for your understanding. We're going to need help setting up chairs, a few tables, and blocking the road in front of the Log Cabin on Saturday morning in preparation for our Annual Meeting.
Please stop up if you can lend a hand. THANKS in advance for your help. Just an FYI ... Due to the delay in mailing Middle Township 2022 Final/2023 Preliminary Tax Bills, the Grace Period for the 3rd quarter taxes ONLY has been extended until Wednesday, August 31, 2022.
Payments received after August 31, 2022 will accrue interest from the Due Date of August 1, 2022. Note: Middle Township does have a Drop Box in front of Town Hall at 33 Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House. |
