As of noon today our gate was unlocked not only for the weekend, but as of Sunday, March 1st ... for the season!
Please feel free to come day any weekend, weekday, and stay overnight. Our bathhouse is open for your use ... but PLEASE take care of it. Maintenance will not be back on-site until the week of March 16th ... so please do your best to keep things clean and tidy ... and report any paper towel or toilet paper dispensers that need to be refilled. The water for the community will be turned on at the end of March. We'll be sure to post when we have everything up and running. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon! Hallelujah!!! The Access Road is cleared sufficiently for you to come down this weekend. There is still snow in various places but definitely drivable. The stoned side roads are snow covered but also drivable especially with all wheel or 4-wheel drive … and it is continuing to melt!!!
There were quite a few smaller trees that were down in the road but they have either been removed or pushed to the side. We has 2 trees down within the campground but they didn’t impact any of our buildings or your homes. They have been cut and removed as well. And we’re happy to report … no water leaks in the bathhouse or our water pump/filtration rooms!!! The bathhouse is fully operational for this weekend’s opening. Our security cameras are still down but you should have wifi service (if you’re with Comcast) at your home. Here are some pictures taken during the work today!!! BIG THANK YOU TO OTTO AND NICK for getting the job done!!! We're getting there!
The temperature is staying above freezing and the snow is starting to melt quickly! We had a contractor in yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon and he took a quick swipe at the Access Road with his plow and pushed a good deal of the small trees/branches that had fallen into the roadway off to the side. Otto and another homeowner will finish clearing the main road. Hopefully the snow will melt quickly on the stoned side roads ... and you'll be able to easily access your homes. With Otto back this afternoon, he will check out our well pump rooms, filtration systems, and the bathrooms for any leaks. The first night of the power outage the temperature dropped to 19 degrees. Hopefully none of our pipes froze that night! He'll also cruise around the community to see if there are any obvious issues with your properties. While homeowners have reported that their cameras are back online, our security cameras are still not up and running. We will need to investigate if the power outage or a power surge caused an issue with a piece of equipment. But we will have other "eyes" on our community until those cameras are back online. Here are some pics from homeowner cameras. We'll post a few more once Otto gets down. YEAH ... IT'S MELTING! The temp is above freezing now and we can see the ground! We're trying not to think about the next storm forecasted for Monday! Well ... there's Good News and Not-So-Good News.
The Good News ... Atlantic City Electric notified us that power was restored around 10:00am this morning. Winter Security will be back onsite tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. Comcast reported that issues with their services have been resolved (but our security cameras have not come back online ☹). The Not-So-Good News ... We are still waiting for the Access Road to be plowed and cleared of fallen trees/branches. Our contractor was supposed to check out the conditions yesterday and get us scheduled but got hung up at another job. He is supposed to come in sometime today. We will continue to keep everyone updated. Again, thanks for your understanding and patience. Cape May County as a whole is still reeling from the amount of snow that came down with this storm. Still no power! Our restoration time was updated sometime overnight to 7:00am this morning ... and shortly after that time passed, the time was updated to 3:00pm. So we are still waiting for our power to be restored and our Access Road to be plowed.
Attention Homeowners!
Yes, our power is still out. If you're on AC Electric's alert list, you have probably seen their messages stating "Estimated Restoration Feb 24, 2026 at 11:59 PM". We are hopeful that electric will be restored some time today, but there is no guarantee. We have also reached out to a contractor to plow the Access Road, remove any downed trees/branches, and clear the blacktop in front of the Log Cabin ... and are awaiting our turn on the list. We don't have a yearly contract with anyone for snow removal ... so we are behind those customers and don't have an ETA at this point in time. Please note that as of this afternoon, our community is virtually inaccessible and we ask that you do not attempt to come down at this point. Winter Security will not be back on site until power is restored. And, until some melting occurs on the stoned side roads, he may not be able drive down the roads to assess your properties for any damage. We assure you that as soon as conditions improve, Winter Security will do a drive through and report any issues. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding. There is power to other homes on Stagecoach Road. We already know there are trees and branches down on the Access Road so we suspect that one of them may have impacted our power.
Also, per reports from the area, it looks like there may be up to 18" of snow in Cape May Court House! Given both the amount of snow and the power outage, it may take some time before we can get a contractor in to clear our road and AC Electric in to repair the power lines if any were impacted along our road. Again we ask for your patience and understanding as we try to get both situations resolved. Yes, the power is out at Old Stagecoach so we can't provide pictures to report on the snow as all the security cameras are down as well. And that also means no water at the bathhouse.
We've reported the outage to Atlantic City Electric but given the storm and the amount of snow already on the ground, it may be days before the power is restored. A screenshot of the current outage map is attached. *** Please report the power outage for your individual properties as well so AC Electric is aware of the number of homes impacted by the outage. *** For his safety, the Board had Winter Security (Otto) leave yesterday afternoon as we were afraid of power outages, no water, and very deep snow that would trap him in the community and also prevent emergency services from entering. PLEASE DO NOT COME DOWN TO OSC UNTIL THE ACCESS ROAD IS CLEARED OF SNOW AND BRANCHES. We don't have a snow removal service on "standby" so it may take time before we can get a contractor in with a plow. Thank you in advance for your patience ... and STAY SAFE! Well, as you can see from the pictures below ... the day today (Saturday) at Old Stagecoach was sunny and calm ... a very innocent day ... that held little clue to the storm brewing for Sunday into Monday. But the latest from the National Weather Service is showing blizzard warnings and 8-12" of snow for Cape May County!!
If you are down at Old Stagecoach or thinking of visiting on Sunday, you may want to rethink your plans. We don't want anyone trapped in the community because the snow is too deep to drive through ... or we lose power because of the heavy snow. Winter Security will also be leaving the property for a few days. If the snow accumulates up to the 12" predicted, we may need to call in a plow service to clear our Access Road ... and that may not happen until Tuesday at the earliest. We will provide updates as the storm progresses ... and let you know what conditions look like from our security cameras. Please stay safe ... wherever you are! PS ... Our gate will be open for the season as of noon on Friday, February 27th! |
